New Mexico, Aug 31 (IBNS): A  head-on crash involving a Greyhound bus and a tractor-trailer in northwestern New Mexico on Thursday left at least four people killed, media reports said on Friday.

"We do expect that number to rise," New Mexico State Police spokesman Officer Ray Wilson told CNN of the fatalities.

Wilson told the news channel that six people suffered minor injuries in the mishap.

They have been shifted to hospital for treatment.

The Los-Angeles bound Greyhound bus carried 49 passengers, the company told CNN.

"Our first priority is taking care of our passengers and their families as this incident has deeply impacted all involved," the company said.

An investigation into the incident has reported started.
