US President Donald Trump arrives in UK, attacks London Mayor Khan

London, June 3 (IBNS): US President Donald Trump on Monday arrived in London for his  three-day state visit to the UK.

Trump's wife and First Lady Melania Trump is accompanying him.

Trump will meet members of the Royal Family, and is expected to discuss climate change and Chinese technology firm Huawei during talks with outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May, reported BBC.

After arriving in London, Trump criticised London Mayor Saddiq Khan for criticising him.

Trump called the Mayor a 'stone cold loser'.

".@SadiqKhan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly “nasty” to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom. He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me," tweeted Trump.

A spokesman for Khan said the "childish insults should be beneath the president of the United States", reported BBC.

In response to Trump's tweets, a spokesman for Khan was quoted as saying by BBC: "This is much more serious than childish insults which should be beneath the president of the United States."

"Sadiq is representing the progressive values of London and our country warning that Donald Trump is the most egregious example of growing far right threat around the globe."
