US: Homeland Security suspends travel ban

Washington, Feb 4 (IBNS): The US government on Saturday complied with the federal judge's order halting the immigration ban moved by President Donald Trump, media reports said.

The country's Department of Homeland Security reportedly announced it has suspended move to implement the immigration order.

A State Department official tells CNN the department has reversed the cancellation of visas that were provisionally revoked following the President's executive order last week -- so long as those visas were not stamped or marked as canceled.

The order given by Trump bars citizens of seven Muslim-majority nations from entering his country for 90 days.

Federal judge James Robart earlier ruled that there were grounds to challenge the ban moved by Trump.

Trump earlier tweeted: "The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!"
