US ends 20 year trade embargo with Sudan
The move is expected to foster ties between the two nations, media reported.
On Friday, US Presdent Barack Obama signed an executive order implementing the measures.
The BBC quoting a White House statement reported that the easing of sanctions will be delayed by 25 weeks in order to give further incentives to the Sudanese government to continue its reforms.
The embargo was imposed in 1997 by the then US President Bill Clinton as it was suspected of sponsoring international terrorism and engaging in genocide, media reported.
