US: 3 cops reportedly shot dead in Louisiana

Louisiana, July 17 (IBNS): At least three policemen were feared to have been killed after they were shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, media reports said.

According to reports, seven policemen were injured in the shooting incident.

Orlando Police tweeted: "Officers shot in Baton Rouge LA. Shooting happened near police HQ."

At least seven officers were injured and at least three of them are feared dead in a shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN.

Police received a call of "suspicious person walking down Airline Highway with an assault rifle," the source told the news channel.

The police were shot after they arrived at the scene of the incident.

The injured policemen have been taken to hospital for treatment.
