Ankara, Feb 18 (IBNS): At least 28 people were killed in a bomb attack in Turkey's Ankara city on Wednesday, media reports said.

The  attack left 61 others injured.

In a statement published in hurriyetdailynews.com, Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan said: "Our determination to retaliate to these attacks that target our unity and our future, in Turkey and abroad, are increasing with such actions."

According to reports, the attack occurred close to a military headquarters.

British Ambassador to Turkey Richard Moore tweeted: "UK stands shoulder to shoulder with Turkey at this difficult time. Utterly condemn terrorism."

Condemning the attack, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement: "I strongly condemn the terrorist attack which struck at the heart of Ankaratonight, targeting buses carrying military personnel‎. I offer my deepest condolences to the families of those killed and to the Turkish people."

" My thoughts are also with those who have been wounded. There can be no justification for such horrific acts. NATO Allies stand shoulder to shoulder in the fight against terrorism," read the statement.
