Trump and Sanders top the New Hampshire primary race to the US presidential election
New Hampshire, Feb 10 (IBNS) Outsiders Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Bernie Sanders won the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday in a convincing manner in the run up to the US presidential election.
The results failed to give any indication of a clear view of the race to the White House as support for established candidates stand skewed.
Ted Cruz, who had defeated Trump in the Iowa caucuses came third with Ohio Governor John Kasich taking the second position in the GOP race.
Florida senator Marco Rubio, who finished a strong third in Iowa, failed to impress in New Hampshire.
According to the local media, Sanders got the better of Hilary Clinton with a large number of young voters, including women supporting him.
Hilary had won the Iowa caucus with a very narrow margin.
Clinton went on to say that now the fight will be for every vote in every state.
Tweeted Trump “Thank you to the people of New Hampshire, I love you! Now, off to South Carolina.”
Trump and Sanders’ victories in New Hampshire reflect a deep cross-party anger at professional politicians and probably indicates that both the Democratic and Republican candidates have a long, acrimonious struggle ahead, according to media.
