| @indiablooms | Aug 24, 2021, at 02:21 pm

Kabul: Taliban insurgents have blamed the US to be the main cause behind the chaos in Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul where a large number of people are attempting to board flights to escape Afghanistan.

Head of the Taliban’s commission for guidance and encouragement, Mullah Amir Khan Motaqi in a voice clip said that entire Afghanistan is secure and no casualty is recorded but the US cannot secure an airport, reports Khaama Press.

He even described the ongoing evacuation by the US as illegitimate and asked for an order in Hamid Karzai International Airport.

“The US in the past twenty years used all its tools to suppress Afghan people but achieved nothing. Now they are suppressing people in Afghanistan through economic pressure which is an ethical crime," Amir Khan Motaqi told Khaama Press.

Meanwhile, the Afghan Civil Aviation Authority announced on Monday a suspension of all flights in the Kabul airport until further notice.

"All the flights at the Hamid Karzai International Airport are suspended," the aviation authority said in a statement on Facebook.

The Afghan Civil Aviation Authority urged citizens not to attend the airport "in order to avoid crowds and subsequent possible incidents."

The Afghan Civil Aviation Authority is making efforts to resume domestic and international flights, according to the statement.
