Taipei, Feb 4 (IBNS) At least 25 people have been killed as a TransAsia Airways flight crashed into a river in Taipei on Wednesday after hitting a bridge, media reports said.

The plane clipped a bridge and landed in the river.

Reports said the plane was carrying 58 people.

At least 20 people remain missing following the mishap as rescuers continued to find out the people.

The plane was a French-made twin-engine turboprop ATR 72 with a two-pilot air crew.

Sources said the flight from Taipei to Kinmen lost contact with flight controllers at about 10.55 am and the fuselage landed in the Keelung River near the city's downtown Sungshan airport.

A dramatic video has emerged which shows the  plane clipping a bridge as it came down shortly after take-off from a airport.
