A shooting incident at a shopping mall in Sweden has left a man dead, media reports said on Saturday.

A woman was hurt in the incident and currently she is undergoing treatment in hospital.

People at the Emporia shopping mall in the southern city of Malmo fled in panic after hearing around 20 shots being fired, Swedish outlet TV4 said as quoted by BBC.

Police have arrested a person in connection with the incident.

Police said the shooting was reportedly a part of the gang tension.

It comes as Sweden gears up for a general election next month, where gang violence tops voters' concerns, reports BBC.
