S Korea: Knife attacked US envoy leaves hospital

Seoul, Mar 10 (IBNS): U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Mark Lippert, who was attacked with a knife recently,has been released from a hospital here on Tuesday, media reports said.

The attacker  Kim Ki-jong was detained at the scene of the incident.

"I feel pretty darn good all things considered," Lippert was quoted as saying by Yonhap News agency before he left the hospital.

"I want to express my profound gratitude to those Koreans and Americans alike who so bravely, gratefully and selflessly responded to the scene of the attack and the medical team that delivered a world-class treatment," he said.

"This incident has only strengthened our love and affection for this country and our belief in the unbreakable bond that exists between the United States and the Republic of Korea," he said.
