Russian military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky dies in St. Petersburg cafe blast

St. Petersburg: An explosion rocked a popular cafe in St. Petersburg city of Russia on Sunday which left a popular Russian military blogger dead, media reports said.

Vladlen Tatarsky died when a blast tore through the cafe where he was appearing as a guest of a pro-war group called Cyber Front Z. Authorities said they were treating the case as suspected murder, reports CNN.

The blast left 30 others injured.

A source told Sputnik news agency that the blast was thought to have been caused by an explosive device brought into the cafe by a female patron.

Authorities told the news agency that the blast was not followed by fire.

The explosion reportedly caused extensive damage to the cafe.
