Royal wedding: Prince Harry, Meghan tie nuptial knot

London, May 19 (IBNS): In a groundbreaking ceremony, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the nuptial knot on Saturday exchanging vows and rings and then kissed outside St. George's Chapel in Windsor on Saturday.

The ceremony was held at Windsor Castle as all eyes were on the bride, an American biracial divorcee, who was wearing a white dress with an open bateau neckline, by British designer Clare Waight Keller, and walked unescorted.

She was followed by 10 bridesmaids and page boys.

Following their marriage, Prince Harry and his bride Meghan Markle will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The  Buckingham Palace announced the matter before the ceremony was held.

"Prince Harry thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex, and Ms. Meghan Markle on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex," read a statement issued by the Palace.

Writing another chapter in the history of the Royal Family, the couple exchanged the wedding vows before the Queen and 600 guests at St George's Chapel.

"Wearing a dress by British designer Clare Waight Keller, Ms Markle was met by Prince Charles, who walked her down the aisle," BBC reported.

According to media reports, Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham and Sir Elton John were invited as guests.

As his father was unable to attend the marriage due to health reasons, Prince Charles walked Markle down the aisle.

British PM Theresa May wished the couple over their wedding.

"My very best wishes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their wedding day. To all of those joining the national celebration with street parties and other events, have a wonderful day. #RoyalWedding," May tweeted.
