Putin authorises changes to Russian presidential election law

| @indiablooms | Nov 15, 2023, at 05:09 am

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved changes to the nation's presidential election law, according to a decree that was posted on the official legal information portal on Tuesday.

Among other things, the revisions prohibit campaigning on any banned site and offer other clarifications about media work.

There are limits on taking pictures and videos at polling stations inside military units, and only media persons who operate on the basis of an employment contract are permitted to attend meetings of election commissioners.

Voting in Russian regions, where martial law has been introduced, is possible based on the results of consultations of the Central Election Commission of Russia with the Ministry of Defense, the FSB and the head of the relevant region.
