Netizens slam Charlie Hebdo for publishing 'controversial' cartoon on Aylan Kurdi
The cartoon shows the toddler lying face down on a beach.
The print accompanying the image reads: "Welcome to migrants!", reports independent.co.uk.
"So near his goal..." is the message over Aylan's body, the website reported.
A sign on the beach with a children's clown character says: "Promo! 2 kids menus for the price of one", it reported.
Another cartoon, which is said to be from the same edition of the magazine, showed a man believed to be Jesus standing on the surface of the ocean while a child is seen to be drowning in the water.
According to report published on independent.co.uk, the caption of the cartoon read: "Proof that Europe is Christian. Christians walk on water - Muslim children sink."
Netizens have slammed the magazine over the cartoons.
"Charlie Hebdo is a purely racist, xenophobic and ideologically bankrupt publication that represents the moral decay of France," Peter Herbert, who is Chair of the Society of Black Lawyers, tweeted.
Journalist Sunny Hundal tweeted: "That Charlie Hebdo cover is NOT mocking Muslims, its actually mocking European attitudes."
Another Twitter user Abu Basim said: " #CharlieHebdo Welcome to the migrants, so close to the goal...promotional offer: kids menu 2 for the price of 1."
Netizen Zariyab Mhd said: "Ladies and gentleman, Charlie Hebdo. That's why i was not and will never be Charlie. How can you mock that poor kid??"
