Mosque torched in US

Washington, Jan 15 (IBNS): A mosque was burnt outside Seattle city in the US on Saturday, media reports said on Sunday.

The police believed that the fire was intentionally set.

"No one was in the Islamic Center of Eastside at the time and no injuries were reported," CNN reported.

One person has been arrested in connection with the fire incident.

Bellevue (WA) Police Department said in a Facebook post: "This morning at 2:44 a.m., Bellevue Police and Fire responded to the Islamic Center of the Eastside for a reported fire. Our Officers arrested a 37-year-old man on the north side of the building for suspicion of arson. At this time, investigators believe that he is the sole suspect."

"The fire caused substantial damage to the structure which was unoccupied at the time. Bellevue Police and Fire investigators remain at the scene throughout the day to investigate this fire.The fire is being investigated as arson," read the statement.
