Knife attack leaves seven hurt in Paris

Paris, Sept 10 (IBNS): At least seven people were hurt as a man, who was armed with knife and iron bar, attacked them in French city of Paris on Sunday, media reports said.

According to reports, the arrested person was identified as an Afghan individual.

He has been arrested.

Sources told BBC there was no indication it was a terrorist attack. 

The incident occurred on the banks of a canal in the 19th arrondissement.

Sources told BBC the man had attacked strangers, initially stabbing two men and a woman near the MK2 cinema on the Quai de Loire, along the Ourcq canal. 

A police investigation has been launched into the incident.
