Genoa, Aug 15 (IBNS): Rescuers are still looking for survivors after the collapse of a bridge in Italy's Genoa on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the interior ministry has confirmed that the death toll has touched 37.

Additionally, at least 16 people are said to have sustained injuries while, another four to 12 people are said to be missing.

The Morandi Bridge collapsed on Tuesday during a torrential rain.

Police have attributed the accident to a violent cloudburst, however, questions regarding the viability of the structure have been raised.

So far,  hundreds of people have been evacuated from the spot and nearby places and as many as 300 firefighters along with sniffer dogs are aiding the rescue operations.
