IDF confirms carrying out strikes on Hamas targets in Gaza

| @indiablooms | Jun 18, 2021, at 04:08 pm

Tel Aviv/UNI: The Israel Defense Forces(IDF) has confirmed carrying out strikes against Hamas targets in the Gaza strip in retaliation to what it described as arson balloons attacks launched from the area.

"In response to arson balloons launched from Gaza into Israel, we struck military compounds and a rocket launch site belonging to Hamas in Gaza," the IDF tweeted.

The Israeli military added that it has increased its preparedness to meet any scenario and will continue targeting Hamas' facilities in Gaza.

The IDF clarified that sirens went off in southern Israel because of gunshots, not rocket attacks.

"The sirens that sounded in southern Israel were triggered by incoming fire, not rockets, from Gaza towards Israel," the IDF tweeted.
