New York, Sept 12 (IBNS): US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been diagnosed with pneumonia, media reports said.

She was reportedly diagnosed with the disease on Friday.

She "was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule," Dr. Lisa Bardack said in a statement as quoted by CNN.

"While at this morning's event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely," said Bardack.

The political leader was taken ill at a 9/11 ceremony.

Her campaign trip to California has been cancelled, reports said.
