An alleged gangrape victim attempted suicide in Pakistan's Bhakkar city, media reports said.

People rescued and handed her over to police when she was found trying to commit suicide.

She revealed she was allegedly abducted by a group of students from close to Thal University where she studies.

She alleged abductors took her to their hostel and assaulted her.

She said a video of the incident was also recorded.

The victim said she was left by her abductors from a nearby jungle.

She alleged that such incidents were common in the university and survivors were blackmailed by the perpetrators, reported Dawn News.

The police registered a case against eight nominated students.

The survivor’s brother urged the Chief Minister to take notice of the incident and take action against those involved in the crime.
