Following meeting, Trump all praise for Xi

Beijing/Washington, Nov 10 (IBNS): US President Donald Trump was all praise for his Chinese counterpart Xi Jingping after their meeting in Beijing on Thursday.

However, he took a subtle jab at the nation for taking advantage of the United States, while blaming his predecessors for allowing the Communist nation to do so.

"I don’t blame China, I blame the incompetence of past Admins for allowing China to take advantage of the U.S. on trade leading up to a point where the U.S. is losing $100's of billions. How can you blame China for taking advantage of people that had no clue? I would've done same," he said.

Speaking about the nature of their meeting, he termed it as productive and said that issues like North Korea and trade were successfully discussed.

Hailing Xi as a respected leader among his tribe, the American President said, "My meetings with President Xi Jinping were very productive on both trade and the subject of North Korea. He is a highly respected and powerful representative of his people. It was great being with him and Madame Peng Liyuan."

With the conclusion of his China tour, Trump is heading towards Vietnam, where he will join the other leaders and take part in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2017.

However, the First Lady of the State, Melania Trump, has stayed back in the nation as she will later take a tour of the zoo and the Great Wall of China.

"I am leaving China for #APEC2017 in Vietnam. @FLOTUS Melania is staying behind to see the zoo, and of course, the Great WALL of China before going to Alaska to greet our AMAZING troops," he said.
