Jakarta/UNI: A tour bus rolled off a 30-meter cliff in the Indonesian province of North Sumatra, leaving at least five people dead and 12 others wounded on Monday evening, local police said on Tuesday.

The accident took place in Kuta Saga village in the district of Pakpak Bharat at around 10:15 p.m. local time and brake failure was believed to be the cause, the district's traffic police chief Mujiono told local media.

All victims have been evacuated by emergency response teams and transferred to nearby hospitals, he said.

Road accidents, often caused by drivers' lack of road safety knowledge and poor infrastructure, are frequently reported in Indonesia.
