Cleric arrested for allegedly raping nine-year-old student in Pakistan mosque

A Pakistani cleric in Larkana was recently arrested for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old student in a mosque.

The father of the minor, Baghan Chandio, disclosed that his son, along with other children, regularly attended Khalid Bin Waleed mosque near their residence in Larkana city, reported Dialogue Pakistan.

According to the FIR filed, a family member caught the mosque teacher Naimat Yaseen in committing the crime.

The victim's father mentioned that the cleric, who also belonged to the Chandio tribe, was caught red-handed by his brother and cousin while they were at the mosque for afternoon prayers, the news portal reported.

"Despite the attempt, the teacher managed to flee," Baghan told the news portal.

The incident was widely condemned on the social media.
