Toronto, Oct 21 (IBNS): Following separate shootings in Canada's Etobicoke on Thursday night, two people, one with serious injuries, have been transported to hospital, reports said.

The first shooting occurred shortly after 9 p.m. One of the two victims, a man believed  to be in his 40s, was shot once in the chest, paramedics said.

At that time, he was inside a Toronto Community Housing Corporation high-rise located on Scarlett Road, near Braeburn Avenue, police reported.

The details of the incident were not known at that time.

Around the same time in the Dixon Road and Wincott Drive area, the second shooting took place.

Multiple gunshots were reported at a park located in the area, said police.

The victim, a male, received a gunshot wound on his hip, paramedics said.

Both victims were in stable condition when they were transported to the hospital.

The police did not provide any information on suspects for either incident and added there was no evidence that these two shootings were linked.
