Canada: Two dead, 14 injured in Toronto shooting

Toronto, July 23 (IBNS): At least one person died, while, 14 others sustained injuries as a shooter opened fire in Canada's Toronto city on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as a woman.

Speaking to reporters, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said that the shooter is dead. He further said that 14 people sustained injuries, including a girl who's said to be in critical condition.

He said that the perpetrator used a handgun.

According to media reports, the gunman succumbed after shooting himself.

Local Toronto Star quoted witnesses as saying that several people were seen lying on the ground inside Mezes restaurant.

The injured people were rushed to hospitals for treatment.
