Canada: Truck-train collision kills two

Saskatchewan, Oct 23 (IBSN): At least two people were killed as a truck was hit by a CN train at Tako, Sask in Canada, reports said on Sunday.

The incident of collision took place near the hamlet of Tako, Sask., approximately 80 kilometres south of North Battleford.

A 66-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman were killed when their truck collided with a CN train on Saturday.

According to the investigators the truck was travelling north and was struck by a train going west at an uncontrolled crossing marked with a stop sign.

Both people were declared dead at the scene.

Investigation is in process and the scene of collision is being examined by an RCMP traffic reconstructionist.

Names of the deceased have not been released so far.
