Oslo, June 15 (IBNS): The Canadian government on Thursday said it is actively engaged in supporting international peace and stability to help people affected by conflicts and crises worldwide.

Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday concluded her participation at the Oslo Forum in Norway and announced a comprehensive package of initiatives totalling $22.6 million to advance international peace.

These initiatives will increase and improve women’s participation in peace processes and foster inclusive dialogue.

At the forum, the Minister took part in a panel discussion regarding the “UN, great power politics and peacemaking” and presented Canada’s views on these issues.

The Minister also met with several of her counterparts to discuss peace, stability and security priorities.
