Canada: Quebec shelter to offer support to sex workers looking to escape industry

Montreal, Sept 4 (IBNS): A Quebec shelter will welcome several sex workers who are looking to escape trade, media reports said.

"La Sortie" or "The Way Out", a bungalow in Vaudreuil, Quebec, has been designed such so that it can shelter the sex workers who are willing to escape the trade.

This is the first of its kind in Quebec.

The organisation will provide all kings of help to the sex workers.

Maylissa, an intervention counsellor, has been quoted by CTV News as saying, "Quebec, I think, has amazing programs and we want to use those programs."

"It’s really going to be tailored what (the sex worker) needs and we’re going to be able to accompany her to the different resources."

The shelter is planning to open on Friday with the support of a grant from the federal government.
