Ottawa, May 19 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has wished Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who tied the nuptial knot on Saturday.

Trudeau said in a statement, "Today, Canadians joined in celebration as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

“To celebrate their union, Canada will donate $50,000 to Jumpstart, a Canadian charity dedicated to making play and sports more accessible to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Since 2005, Jumpstart has helped more than 1.6 million children of all abilities get out on the field and be part of a team."

The wedding ceremony was held at Windsor Castle.

Following their marriage, Prince Harry and his bride Meghan Markle will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The  Buckingham Palace announced the matter before the ceremony was held.

"Prince Harry thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex, and Ms. Meghan Markle on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex," read a statement issued by the Palace.

Writing another chapter in the history of the Royal Family, the couple exchanged the wedding vows before the Queen and 600 guests at St George's Chapel.
