Quebec City, Apr 6 (IBNS): More than 600 people have illegally crossed border through Quebec into Canada in the last weekend, media reports said.

Around 150 people have crossed border each day, report said.

Police were waiting on the soil of Canada to arrest the illegal intruders.

Unlike last year when the migrants were mainly Haitians, this year they are predominanty Nigerians.

The intrusion also took place after the weekend.

According to the Customs and Immigration Union, there were about 114 people who crossed border through Quebec on Thursday.

One of the Haitian migrant, Rosemary, told CTV News, " I come here because Trump wants to deport everybody to go back home."

Many of the migrants are expected that they will apply for the status of refugee.

Around 60% of them have been granted the refugee status.

Last year, the migrants were housed at the Montreal stadium.
