Brasília, Feb 8 (IBNS): At least 10 people were killed as a fire broke out at a dormitory at the youth team training centre of one of Brazil's biggest football clubs, media reports said on Friday.

"Three people were also injured when the fire broke out at Ninho de Urubu, the training ground of Flamengo football club, in Rio de Janeiro," BBC reported.

The deceased have been identified as young athletes.

The cause of the fire is still not known.

Flamengo is a popular Brazil-based football club.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, who joined the club from Flamengo last year, tweeted: "Just remembering the nights and days I spent on the CT, it's creepy. Still without believing, but in prayer for all! God bless everyone's family! 😢."

More details are awaited.
