Australian PM Anthony Albanese announces engagement to partner Jodie Haydon

Australian PM Anthony Albanese on Thursday (February 15, 2024) announced his engagement to partner Jodie Haydon, marking a new beginning to their life a day after Valentine's Day.

Albanese posted an image with Jodie Haydon on X with a special message announcing the development in his personal life.

He emotionally wrote: "She said yes."

Jodie was seen in the picture flashing the engagement ring.

Albanese may become the first PM in the history of the country to get married while in office.

The two shared a Valentine’s Day dinner on Wednesday night at Italian & Sons in Canberra’s inner north. The restaurant offered set menus for the special occasion for $135 per person, reported The Guardian.

After returning to The Lodgehe reportedly popped the question to Jodie.

Guardian Australia understands Albanese specially designed the engagement ring.
