AirAsia QZ 8501: Indonesian divers recover 4 bodies

Jakarta, Jan 24 (IBNS): Indonesian divers recovered four more bodies of the ill-fated AirAsia Flight QZ8501 on Saturday as they continued their operations to lift the fuselage of the aircraft from the seafloor, reports said.

The aircraft crashed into sea with 162 people aboard late last month.

The bodies of these four victims were recovered near the fuselage about 100 miles off the coast of Borneo.

Six more bodies were recovered from the same area on Friday, reports said.

According to reports, a total of 69 bodies have been recovered so long.

SB Supriyadi, a rescue agency official co-ordinating the search said that the divers have reached the fuselage but had been unable to retrieve it due to debris and various cables, News24 reported.

The operations were also hampered due to bad weather condition.
