Afghanistan: Special forces operation kills nine civilians in Nangarhar

Kabul, May 29 (IBNS): The Afghanistan government has confirmed on Tuesday that at least nine people were killed in an operation conducted by the country's special forces.

The incident took place on Monday night in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province.

Special forces attack in Dawlatzai area of Chaparhar district also injured eight others, including a woman and a girl, said provincial governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khoghyani.

"Nine civilians including a local police commander and relatives of the Senate chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar and eight others were wounded,” he said, adding that “a woman and a girl are among the wounded.” 

According to latest reports, an investigation has been initiated by a team assigned by the country's government.
