Guwahati, Aug 5 (IBNS): Security forces apprehended three ultras belonging to Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) from Assam's Dhubri district along with Indo-Bangladesh border on Tuesday, officials said on Wednesday.
Defence spokesman based in Guwahati said that based on specific intelligence, army and Assam Police established a check post in the late evening of Tuesday at Dhubri – Bagribari road in Dhubri District.

“An Alto car approached the check post and on seeing the army personnel, the occupants tried to flee from the spot. The personnel overpowered the occupants and stopped them from escaping. The occupants of the car were three Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) terrorists,” the defence official said.

The militants were planning a kidnapping for ransom and were identified as JiaurRahman, BasirUddin Sheikh and Bilal Hussain.

One 7.65mm Pistol and some ammunition were recovered from the terrorists.
