London, June 9 (IBNS): Shikhar Dhawan returned to form when it mattered the most and contributed 117 runs with the willow as Indian batsmen put up a strong show which helped the side post a mammoth 352 runs for the loss of five wickets in a World Cup group stage match against Australia here on Sunday.

Dhawan hammered 117 runs where he hit 16 boundaries to put pressure on the Aussie attack.

After making a slow start, Dhawan and Rohit Sharma (57) added 127 runs in the opening wicket stand.

Dhawan is known for his good performance in ICC tournaments and this time also he kept the promise.

Virat Kohli contributed 82 runs and it was crucial at a point when India lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma after a strong start.

Kohli hit four boundaries and two sixes in the knock. His wicket was picked up in the last over by Stoinis.

Hardik Pandya (48) and MS Dhoni (27) played quick-fire knocks that added to the total.

Australia will need to score 353 runs to win the match.

Australian bowlers mostly struggled in the match.
