Wimbledon: Sania reaches mixed-doubles pre-quarters

London, July 2 (IBNS)India's Sania Mirza and her mixed doubles partner Horia Tecau has moved to the pre-quarterfinals of the Wimbledon by beating Mate Pavic and Bojana Jovanovski here.

In a rain-hit match, Saina and Tecau defeated their opponent 6-3, 6-3.

The match lasted for 58 minutes.

Rohan Bopanna's Wimbledon outing came to an end for this year as along with his Czech mixed doubles partner Andrea Hlavackova, the Indian player crashed out of the tournament after being defeated in a mixed-doubles clash.

Bopanna and Hlavackova were defeated Russia's Mikhail Elgin and Anastasia Rodionova of Australia by 6-3 5-7 3-6.

Bopanna later tweeted: " My wimbledon trip for 2014 is over. Looking forward to going home, it's been 9wks on the road. Next tour will be in Washington DC in 3weeks.  Time for some good home cooked food, meet up with family and friends. And ofcourse maybe a few rounds of Golf will be fun for sure."
