Wimbledon: Sachin Tendulkar spotted cheering friend Federer

London, July 15 (IBNS): Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who is a familiar face at the Wimbledon, was spotted cheering for tennis legend Roger Federer on Friday.

Tendulkar happens to be a close friend of the Swiss maestro.

In a picture shared by the official Twitter handle of Wimbledon, the caption reads: "Friends in high places..."

Speaking about watching Federer playing in the Centre-Court, Tendulkar said: "I have been watching for last ten years, so I am here again to support Roger."

However, he said that he admires the legendary tennis player more as a human being.

"The whole world admires Roger as the tennis player but I know him personally. I admire him more as a person. He is such a down to earth, humble man. After achieving so much in life and be like that, is always nice to be around him," the former Indian captain said.

Tendulkar, who has always been a fan of tennis, said: "It is always special to be here. I have always been a big fan of tennis so no better place than Wimbledon."

Seven times champion Roger Federer defeated Thomas Berdych on Friday to reach a record eleventh final of the Wimbledon championship 2017.

Federer out-shined his opponent in 7-6, 7-6, 7-4 in straight-sets in the men's single.

After the win, Federer said: "I feel very privileged to be in another final. I can't believe it's true."
