Mohali, Nov 4 (IBNS): Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag on Saturday announced that he has decided to end his association with IPL side Kings XI Punjab.

He was associated with the club for two years as a player and later on as a mentor for the past three years.

Sehwag tweeted: "All good things must come to an end and I've had a wonderful time at Kings 11 Punjab, for 2 seasons as a player and 3 as a mentor. My association with Kings 11 comes to an end and I am thankful for the time I have had here and wish the team all the very best for the times ahead."

Kings XI Punjab made a brilliant start to their IPL campaign last season but ended in the second-last place with six wins and eight losses in 14 matches.

Kings played under the leadership of a new leader R Ashwin last season.

Sehwag made the announcement just months ahead of the start of the next season of the cash-rich tournament.
