New York, Sept 13 (IBNS) Months after winning Wimbledon title, Sania Mirza repeated her dominance in the US Open as the Indian tennis star along with her seasoned Swiss partner Martina Hingis won the Women’s Doubles title with some authority, here on Sunday.

Entering the match as a clear favorite, Martina-Sania played with composure to clinch the first set 6-3.

They emulated their success in the ensuing set to clinch the match 6-3 against the Australian-Kazakhstan pair of Casey Dellacqua and Yaroslava Shvedova and lift the cup.

This is Mirza’s second Grand Slam.

Her partner, Hingis, 34, after winning the Mixed Doubles with Leander Peas a day ago, clinched her 16th title.
