London, May 25 (IBNS): Australian Trevor Bayliss is likely to be appointed as the coach of the England national cricket side, media reports said.

"Telegraph Sport understands Bayliss has responded positively to an offer from the ECB and is expected to be named successor to Peter Moores after the First Test against New Zealand, with further talks expected today," telegraph.co.uk reported.

He is coaching New South Wales side at present.

Former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne tweeted: "If Trevor Bayliss is the new coach of England, then England are very lucky, as he is a ripper & even better, he's pure old school too."
