Tolly Classic: Bimal Singh Sardar continues his dream run

Kolkata, May 10 (IBNS): The IGU Eastern India Amateur Feeder tour 's 8th event Tolly Classic drew to a ceremonial end with Bimal Singh Sardar pulling off a narrow victory  to further cement his place in the order of merit leader board .

The participants  had a herculean task of  combating the heat and humidity with the mercury soaring to touch the 40 mark .

Bimal Singh Sardar had a modest day 2 compared to his day 1 with only 2 birdies at the 10th and 15th hole. He finished with 145 after a day 1 and day 2 of 71 and 74 respectively.
I underperformed today with 3 successive bogeys on the 16th 17th 18th holes in the process also missing my chip putt .

Akbar Khan of Kolkata gave Bimal a run for his money with identical scores of 73 on both the days to finish a stroke behind Bimal on 146.

Abhikans Basu and Souvik Nayak had the joint  best score of the day with 72 apiece .

In the mid amateur category Krishnakant Shah maintained his day 1  superiority by scoring a similar score as day 1 to end on 178 .
Siddharth Bansal came second with 190.

In the super senior category Captain Sovitendra Chakraborty won with a 177 score .Subroto Kundu tied with Pradip Das came 2nd after having a better day 2 score .

The junior category saw Garv Lakhmani winning the over 13 category ,while Riddhiman Singh won the under 13 title with a 190 cumulative of both days .Aryaveer Agarwal with a score of 90 won the under 9 category with Andrew Baid coming second .

In the ladies category ,Geetika Ahuja continued her fine form with another win in her kitty.
Sinjini Mukherjee came in 2nd with a 151 score over 2 days .

Vice captain of Tollygunge Club Vivek Varma who gave away the prizes to the deserving winners lauded the spirit of the golfers playing in this furnace like conditions.

The action now shifts to the picturesque valleys of Shillong with the next event scheduled on the 1st and 2nd of June.
