Tokyo Olympics medalists Neeraj Chopra, Lovlina Borgohain among 12 athletes to get Khel Ratna Award

New Delhi/IBNS: The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports on Tuesday declared the names of the 12 sportspersons who will be conferred with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for the year 2021.

Tokyo Olympics medalists, including gold medal winner Neeraj Chopra, and Paralympic Games will be awarded India's highest sporting honour.

The list of the award winners includes Indian women's cricket legend Mithali Raj and Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri.

The awards will be given as part of the National Sports Awards, which will be held on November 13.

The President of India will give the awards at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Every year, National Sports Awards are given to recognize and reward excellence in sports.

Thirty-five sportspersons will receive the Arjuna Awards for outstanding performance in sports.
