T2-I: Kohli smashes 82 to help India beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets

Colombo, Sept 6 (IBNS): India will return from Sri Lanka undefeated as the visitors completed their golden run by defeating the home team by seven wickets in the T20 match of the tour here on Wednesday.

After restricting Sri Lanka to 170 runs for the loss of seven wickets, Indian batsmen reached the score of 174 runs by losing three wickets.

After Rohit Sharma (9) and KL Rahul (24) departed, Virat Kohli took the lead role in guiding India to victory.

He hammered seven boundaries and a six in his 54-ball 82 runs innings before he lost his wicket to Isuru Udana.

However, fall of Kohli's wicket was late and was meaningless for making a change in the fate of the game at that point.

Manish Pandey (51*) gave Kohli good company at the other end as both the batsmen joined in framing a 119 runs partnership to grab a win at the end of the clash.

India won the match with four balls to spare.

Dilshan Munaweera remained the top scorer for Sri Lanka with his 53 runs knock as the home side posted 170 runs on the scorecard.

Yuzvendra Chahal picked up three wickets for India.

India whitewashed Sri Lanka in Test, ODI and now in the T20 series.
