Steve Smith's gutsy 131 helps Australia post 338 against India in first innings

Sydney: Steve Smith played yet another heroic innings of 131 runs which helped Australia post 338 runs in the first innings of the third Test match against India here on Friday.

Ravindra Jadeja shined with the ball on the second day as he picked up four wickets to damage Australian order at the end.

Smith smashed 16 boundaries in his balanced knock.

Marnus Labuschagne  (91) and Will Pucovski (62) added some runs with their willows.

Jasprit Bumrah and Navdeep Saini, who made his debut with the match, took two wickets each while Mohammed Siraj picked up one.

The Test match is currently balanced at 1-1.
