Serbian Novak Djokovic wins US Open title

New York, Sept 10 (IBNS): Serbian Novak Djokovic registered another Grand Slam victory on Sunday when he defeated Juan Martin del Potro to lift the US Open title here.

This was the 14th Grand Slam victory of the Serbian.

Novak defeated his opponent 6-3 7-6 (7-4) 6-3.

Novak had won the Wimbledon in July this year.

He is just behind  Roger Federer (20) and Rafael Nadal (17)
in winning the highest number of Grand Slam victories.

Argentine third seed Del Potro, 29,  was playing his first Grand Slam final since the 1009 US Open title victory.
