Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel debut for India in third Test against England

Rajkot/IBNS/UNI: Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel made their debut for India in the third of five-match Test series against England in Rajkot on Thursday.

India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first in the morning.

Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj have returned to the side while Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar missed out.

For England, Mark Wood returns to the playing XI.

The Test series is poised evenly after India, who have no Virat Kohli for all five matches, won the second Test at Visakhapatnam and England the first in Hyderabad.

England have made their presence felt in the series with Bazball by shattering the conventional perception that India dominated their rivals in home conditions for the last 12 years.

India, however, will be looking for a 2-1 lead on the back of Jasprit Bumrah who picked 9 wickets in the Visakhapatnam Test by exploiting the reverse-friendly conditions.

The home side also will depend on double-centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal and centurion Shubman Gill to give India a good start.

Meanwhile, England will continue to go to India with Bazball, and their spinners licking their fingers to repeat their Hyderabad performance here.

Teams

India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel(w), Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj

England: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes(c), Ben Foakes(w), Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood, James Anderson
