Sania Mirza to be conferred Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IBNS): Indian Tennis icon Sania Mirza, who has won several tournaments in recent times in doubles, will be conferred India's highest sports award Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, media reports said on Tuesday.

"World No. 1 Tennis doubles player Sania Mirza's name has been approved for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award by a 12-member selection committee which met in the capital on Tuesday," India Today reported.

Sania Mirza is the current number one doubles player.

She recently won the Wimbledon doubles title with her partner Martina Hingis.
