Saina clinches India Open title

New Delhi, Mar 29 (IBNS): A day after reaching the top spot on the badminton women's players rankings, Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal won her maiden India Open Super Series title by beating Ratchanok Intanon.

She won the women's singles title by beating her opponent from Thailand by 21-16, 21-14. The clash lasted for 49 minutes.

She had earlier this year won the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold title.

Ahead of the final clash, Saina, who is the first Indian woman badminton player to reach the number one spot in the rankings list, on Saturday had tweeted: "Finals tomorrow at the india open in Delhi Sirifort stadium."
